Geneva, May 24 (HS). World number one Novak Djokovic entered the semi-finals of the Geneva Open by defeating Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor 7-5, 6-1 here on Thursday. Djokovic won the match in 77 minutes.
Griekspoor, world number 27, was seeded sixth at the 28-member Geneva tournament, which serves as a warm-up ahead of the French Open, which starts next week.
Djokovic will face Tomas Machak of the Czech Republic, who beat American Alex Michelson 6-3, 7-6 (2) in the semi-finals on Friday.
In other matches on Thursday, second seed Casper Ruud of Norway defeated Sebastian Baez of Argentina 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, while Flavio Cobolli of Italy beat Alexander Shevchenko of Kazakhstan 6-4, 6-4.
