Ranchi, 17 April (HS). Notification will be issued on Thursday for voting to be held on May 13 in the state. The process of nomination will start as soon as the notification is issued regarding the fourth phase of general elections and first phase for Jharkhand. Nomination forms will be filled till April 25, the seats for which the nomination process will be started include Singhbhum, Khunti, Lohardaga and Palamu.
Of these four seats, three are reserved for ST and one for SC. According to the announcement made by the Election Commission, scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on April 26. At the same time, the date for withdrawal of nominations has been fixed on April 29. Voting on all four seats is scheduled for May 13. Voting will take place from 7 am to 5 pm.
Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said on Wednesday that nominations will be filed from 11 am to 3 pm as per the instructions of the Election Commission. He said that preparations have been completed at the district level regarding nominations and they will be filled as per the guidelines of the Commission. At the time of nomination, apart from the candidate, only four people will be allowed to appear before the Returning Officer, that is, only five people will be able to appear for nomination. Apart from this, guidelines have also been issued by the Commission regarding election meetings and rallies to be held before or after nomination.
Apart from parking the vehicles at a distance of 100 meters from the nomination venue, candidates will be able to bring four supporters along with them before the Returning Officer. No kind of procession, rally or election meeting can be conducted by the candidate without prior permission. If such meetings take place then it will be brought under the ambit of code of conduct violation. The accounting of election expenses of the candidates will start as soon as the nomination is made.
