CNG Car Tips: If you have a CNG vehicle then you must have noticed that when you go to the CNG filling station, you have to get out of the car. Then your car is filled with gas. Most people do not have proper information about it. However, the reason behind doing this is to keep the driver and passengers safe. Apart from this, there are many technical and safety related reasons which are very important for every CNG car owner to know.

Reasons why you have to get out of the car while filling CNG:

1. Danger of gas leak
CNG is a high pressure gas. If there is any fault in the valve or pipe during filling, there is a possibility of gas leaking. Leaked gas can fill the interior of the car, causing accidents like suffocation or fire.

2. Danger of static electricity
Static electricity can be generated due to friction inside the car. In case of gas leakage these small sparks can cause fire. This danger can be reduced by staying outside.

3. Danger of fire and explosion
CNG is a flammable substance. If gas leaks anywhere and even a spark comes in contact with it, it causes fire. If you stay outside you can avoid this danger.

4. Easy to get out in case of emergency
If any accident occurs during CNG, it becomes difficult to immediately rescue the people trapped inside the car. But if you stay outside, in case of an emergency you can immediately reach a safe place.

5. Government regulation and safety guidelines
Many countries and states have made it mandatory for all passengers to get out of the car while filling CNG. Special training is given to employees at petrol pumps and CNG stations.

What will happen if you sit inside the car?
In case of gas leakage, the car will start filling with gas, which will suffocate you and make you unconscious. Being trapped inside a car in case of fire can prove fatal. Violating the rules may result in fine or refusal to fill gas at the pump.
