Not just cricket, there was a team meeting on hookah? CSK player opened the truth:

Post

News India Live, Digital Desk: Captain Kool Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known for his different style outside the field as many as the field looks calm and mysterious on the field. Players playing under his captaincy often tell how Dhoni’s room was not just his room, but a base of the entire team. Recently, a young player of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) talked about this, after which the old stories about Dhoni’s room and the atmosphere there have been renewed, including mention of ‘hookah’.

The door was always open

CSK’s young South African player Dewald Bravis recently told how deep Dhoni has a deep association with his players. He said, “It is special to know how Dhoni is outside the field. The door of his room is always open. If he is not sleeping, no one can meet him. Brevis told how he used to sit with Dhoni in his room and talk about cricket and his hobby.

Used to be the team around hookah?

Brevis talks are new, but the story of Dhoni’s room ‘open-door policy’ is old. Earlier, former Australian player George Bailey, who played in CSK with Dhoni, had unveiled how Dhoni used to get mixed up with the young players of the team. Belly had revealed in an interview that Dhoni likes hookah (glass) and he often kept it set-up in his room.

According to Bailey, Dhoni’s room was a place where the distinction between senior and junior was over. He had said, “You often go to his room late at night and find many young players there. It was Dhoni to break the wall between the players and talk to them openly.” Belly described it as a great way of team bonding.

Disputes also took birth

However, while many players described it as a unique initiative to connect it to the team, it also became a matter of dispute for some. An old interview of former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan recently went viral again, in which he said in gestures that he did not habit of doing “hookah set-up” in someone’s room. His statement was seen as a taunt on Dhoni, as if it is being said that some players used to do this to make the captain happy.

Overall, this was also a unique aspect of Dhoni’s captaincy. His room was a comfort zone for young players, where he could connect directly to his captain. Now it was a ‘hookah session’ for someone, so for someone to make the team a family, Mahi Way.
