Northeast Railway earned 101% more than last year, this year freight increased by 52.32%

Northern Railway: The Northeast Railway is constantly setting new records. Here, the railway administration is meeting the expectations of traders, industrial establishments and the general public in terms of freight transportation. This is the reason why every year the income from freight transportation is increasing by more than 100 percent compared to the previous year. Along with this, the process of increase in freight loading on the Northeast Railway continues due to the efforts of the business development units at the railway headquarters and divisional level to increase freight loading.

Cargo loading increased by 52.32 percent in June this year compared to last June

Northeast Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh said that the railway administration is providing advanced freight loading facilities to traders and industrial establishments. In the month of June this year, a total of 0.4661 million tons of freight was loaded, which is 52.32 percent more than the total of 0.3060 million tons in June last year. In the month of June last year, the freight loading earned an income of Rs 32.31 crore. Whereas in the month of June this year, the income from this item was Rs 64.94 crore, which is about 101 percent more than last year.

Significant increase in cargo loading and freight in the first quarter of FY 2024-25

As a result of planned efforts, a total of 0.9471 million tonnes of goods were loaded in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 till June 2024, which is about 09 percent more than the total of 0.8689 million tonnes loaded in the first quarter of the last financial year 2023-24 till June 2023. In the last financial year 2023-24, an income of Rs 88.14 crore was generated from goods loading till the first quarter of June 2023. Whereas in the financial year 2024-25, an income of Rs 113.60 crore was generated from this item till the first quarter of June 2024. Which is 28.90 percent more than last year.
