The process of filing nominations for 88 parliamentary seats in 12 states in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections has started from Thursday. The notification for the second phase of parliamentary elections to be held on April 26 was issued by the Election Commission on behalf of the President on Thursday morning. The last date for filing nomination papers for this phase is April 4.
All states and union territories except Jammu and Kashmir In Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on April 5. Investigation will be held in Jammu and Kashmir on 6th April. Voting will also be held in a part of Outer Manipur Lok Sabha constituency during this phase. The gazette notification issued for the first phase on March 20 also included notification for the elections to the Outer Manipur constituency. Voting for 15 assembly constituencies of Bahri Manipur Lok Sabha constituency will be held in the first phase on April 19. Elections will be held in 13 assembly constituencies of the parliamentary constituency on April 26.
The states and union territories included in the second phase include Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and parts of West Bengal, apart from outer Manipur.
