There is a severe shortage of health aid, medical care and supplies. Among the hospitalized patients, the condition of 4 children and 28 others is critical and people are facing shortage of basic things like diapers, urine bags and water.

The WHO chief claimed that only one bottle of water was available for every 15 patients in the hospital yesterday. Food here is also limited and can prove fatal for diabetic patients.

Attack on Islamic Jihad base: Israel claims

The statement of the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) has come at a time when the Israeli army recently carried out an airstrike on Gaza's Al Aqsa Hospital. The Israeli army has claimed that its air strikes targeted an Islamic Jihad base and killed four terrorists of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. However, the hospital administration has denied allegations that the hospital premises are being used for terrorist activities. Islamic Jihad is an ally of Hamas and no statement has yet been issued by Islamic Jihad regarding the Israeli air strikes. Al Aqsa Hospital is the last operating hospital in Gaza.
