Setback to Kejriwal in Delhi High Court

On Monday (5 August), the Delhi High Court rejected the bail plea of Chief Minister Kejriwal in the liquor policy scam. Now Kejriwal will approach the Supreme Court against the High Court's order. After the High Court's order, he will not be able to come out of jail. The court has also rejected the petition calling his arrest illegal in the CBI case. Along with this, the court has also rejected his interim bail plea. The High Court has asked him to go to the lower court for bail.

The hearing will be held on September 5

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday (August 7) asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as to what aspect is pending in the petition challenging the bail granted to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal even though he was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in an excise duty case and a related money laundering case. On the demand for a new date, Justice Krishna said, “Adjournment was sought last time also. You cannot request the court every time, as if the court has no other work to do. You have to adjust your diary accordingly. Do not think that the court will give you a date without thinking.”

ED's lawyer clarified that, 'Last time the date was sought not by the investigating agency but by your lawyer.' He requested the High Court to fix an earlier date for hearing the case. Now the hearing of this case will be held on September 5.
