The judicial custody of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been extended till July 12. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday extended the judicial custody till July 3. He was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024 in the excise policy case. Along with this, the court reserved its decision on CM Kejriwal's petition. In which he has demanded that his wife be allowed to be present through video conferencing during the conversation with the medical board. The court will pronounce its decision on July 6.

Let us tell you that Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested by ED and CBI. CM Kejriwal has filed an application in Delhi High Court for bail in a case related to CBI. He has demanded an early hearing in this regard. The case will be heard on Friday. Lawyer Rajat Bhardwaj said that CM Kejriwal has been kept in illegal custody and the law has not been followed.
CM Kejriwal has challenged the arrest
When the lawyer appealed for a hearing on Thursday, Justice Manmohan said, “Let the judges see the papers first. Then we will hear the case the next day.” After the ED has already registered a case, Kejriwal has also challenged his arrest by the CBI. In the petition, Kejriwal has described it as a matter of grave disappointment and concern. He said that the investigation has already been completed and the material forming the basis of his arrest has already been collected. A premier investigating agency like the CBI cannot play with the process of law and the CBI has to work with impartiality by removing any notion of bias or one-sided approach. This is clearly annoying. The behavior of the CBI is clearly malicious. Kejriwal's freedom was taken away arbitrarily and recklessly.

In his plea, he said it is clear that the petitioner was harassed, now the evidence on the basis of which he was arrested is on record and such evidence has come to light even after 1 year and 10 months of filing the case. Arresting after several months of recovery is not only unacceptable in the eyes of law but is clearly malicious. The timing of the arrest reflects an attempt to prevent, evade and block his release from custody as he has been granted regular bail in the PMLA case.
The case is still pending in the High Court. The court has issued a notice in this case and sought a reply from the CBI. The hearing in this case is to be held on July 17. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21. On June 20, the lower court granted him bail but the High Court stayed the lower court's decision.
