Mumbai – Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar has ordered that no policeman will dance while on duty during Ganeshotsav. It has been urged that if any uniformed policeman dances, strict action will be taken against him.
Last year, a video of uniformed policemen dancing at Ganeshotsav events or during the arrival or departure of Lord Ganesha went viral. Taking it seriously, the commissioner has given this order.
Phansalkar gave this order during a meeting held to review the law and order situation and the preparedness of the police force before the main Ganpati parade. He said that every policeman should respect the uniform while on duty.
