No one's house can be demolished without legal process.. High Court's action against bulldozer action

Jharkhand High Court: A hearing was held in the Jharkhand High Court on Monday in the matter of notice issued to Ashok Kumar by the CEO of Garhwa. The High Court said that no one's house can be demolished without following the legal procedure. The CEO asked the petitioner to show all the documents of his house within 24 hours. He also said that doing so would be considered encroachment.

Ashok Kumar of Garhwan filed a petition in this case, after hearing which the court gave this order. During the hearing, the High Court said that even if the government feels that housing construction is illegal and forced, action can be taken only after completing all the procedures as per law.

All documents requested within 24 hours

During the hearing, the petitioner told the court that on March 10, 2024, the CEO of Garhwa had issued a notice and ordered to produce all the documents of the building within 24 hours. It was said that not presenting the documents would be considered as trespass. The applicant submitted all the documents to the CEO on March 11. After which Circle Inspector and Garhwa Police reached the residence. The building was measured and sealed. The petitioner filed a petition against this in the High Court.
