No more dropping out due to failure! Education Department’s historic decision to retain students in Delhi government schools. Now you will not have to stop studying even if you fail! Historic decision of Education Department to stop children from government schools of Delhi

To improve the level of education in the government schools of Delhi and to prevent children from dropping out, the Education Directorate of the Kejriwal government has taken a very big and historic decision. According to the new rules, now students who fail or fail in the examinations will not be thrown out of the school nor will their studies be left incomplete. It was often seen that after failing in class 9th or 11th, students left school dejected or the school administration was reluctant to re-admit them. To eliminate this serious problem, the government has now made a major change at the policy level.

Every child who fails in class will get regular admission again. According to the new circular issued by the Delhi Directorate of Education, now strict instructions have been given to the principals of all government and government-aided schools in the capital that they cannot refuse re-admission to any student who has failed. These children will also have full rights to come to school, sit in classes and participate in all educational activities like other regular students. The main objective of this step is to remove the fear of failure from the minds of children and keep them connected to mainstream education.

Special remedial classes will be run in schools for weak students Only re-admission is not a part of this rule, but schools have been asked to make special strategies to strengthen the studies of failed students. Special remedial classes (additional classes) will be organized for these children during or after school hours. In this, teachers will pay special attention to those subjects in which students are weak or have failed. The Education Department believes that with this personal attention and extra support, students will not only be able to correct their shortcomings but will also be able to pass the next examination with better marks.

Delhi government’s big masterstroke to bring dropout rate to zero Education experts believe that this decision of Delhi Government is like putting the basic principles of New Education Policy (NEP) and Right to Education (RTE) on the ground. Often, children from economically weak families, once failed, got engaged in labor or other work, due to which their future became bleak. After the introduction of this new rule, there is expected to be a huge decline in the dropout rate in government schools of Delhi. Parents and teachers organizations of Delhi have welcomed this student-friendly decision of the government and called it a step to secure the future of children.
