At an event in Georgetown University in the US, Rahul Gandhi said that he often sympathizes with PM Narendra Modi. He said, 'You may be surprised, but I don't really hate Mr Modi. I wake up in the morning and think he has an opinion on something. My views are slightly different. I don't agree with him, but I don't hate him either. I don't see any reason for competition like Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi. I don't consider him my enemy. Sometimes I even sympathize with him.
Rahul Gandhi said that I walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Halfway through, it crossed my mind that I have been in politics since 2004. But why did I never use the word love as a leader? We use anger and hatred in politics, but the better thing is love. I felt it has been used in politics. You can understand how influential and powerful it is.
Love is something that everyone feels. Everyone loves their family, country. So why can't this happen in politics? I don't think there is a need to rethink the definition of secularism. In fact, Mahatma Gandhi also had an ideology in the country. This ideology says that we are not ready to accept anger, hatred and violence.
