The fierce public anger that broke out in Pakistan’s illegally occupied Kashmir (PoK) has now become a big headache for Pakistan’s Shehbaz Sharif government and military establishment. This historical movement going on under the leadership of Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) is becoming more violent day by day. Rejecting the rumors of administrative agreement floating on social media, JAAC has made it clear that no written agreement has been made with the Pakistani rulers and the movement will continue without any interruption.

Fake propaganda rejected: ‘The movement will continue until the demands are met’

The core committee of JAAC issued a press statement on Tuesday terming the news of any kind of agreement with administrative officials as baseless propaganda. Senior leaders of the organization clarified that talks have been held with the authorities, but until the unconditional release of all the detained workers and written consent is not reached on the basic demands of the local people, the question of ending the movement does not arise. The leaders have appealed to the supporters to be cautious and not to believe any such false news.

Appeal for complete bandh from Neelam Valley to Poonch and Muzaffarpur

To give further impetus to the movement, JAAC leader Raja Ikhlaq Ahmed has called upon the traders and common citizens of Neelum Valley to show unprecedented solidarity by keeping the markets closed in the entire area. At the same time, senior strategist of the organization, Omar Nazir Kashmiri has strongly appealed to the residents of Mirpur, Muzaffarabad and Poonch divisions to take to the streets in a massive protest and sit-in demonstrations to be held on July 23. Huge protests are currently being seen against the Pakistani administration throughout PoK.

JAAC has declared the date of 23rd July as a new ‘turning point’ in the history of this mass movement. Kashmiri said that on July 23, a very important and historic announcement will be made that will decide the future of the entire movement. However, the suspense of this announcement has given Pakistani security agencies sleepless nights. The main demands of JAAC include the release of arrested leaders as well as restoration of electricity, water, subsidies and basic rights, without which the public is unwilling to back down.
