Now you will not need a card to withdraw money from ATM. You can easily withdraw money using your smartphone and UPI app. In short, this ‘Interoperable Cardless Cash Withdrawal’ (ICCW) technology is secure and convenient for all sections of people.

Earlier people used to carry debit cards to ATMs and there was a fear of forgetting the PIN or card skimming. However, now with ICCW technology, people can withdraw cash using UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and BHIM. In this process, you simply have to ‘Scan the ATM QR Code’ and verify it with the ‘UPI PIN’. No card is required in this.

The process is very simple in this new system. First, visit any ‘ICCW Supported’ ATM. Then select ‘UPI Cash Withdrawal’ and enter your desired amount (ranging from ₹100 to ₹10,000). Now scan the QR code and confirm with PIN.

By doing this you will get cash within a few minutes. Let us tell you that the QR code is valid only for 30 seconds, which means the risk of fraud is reduced. If you try to withdraw more money than the bank’s daily limit, the ATM or app will immediately notify you.

This facility has made banking easier for the elderly and people living in rural areas. This will save you the hassle of losing your card, forgetting your PIN or standing in long queues. This facility is extremely convenient for tech-savvy youth. Most banks are planning to add more ATMs and apps to ICCW in the future.
