While many leaders of the Janata Dal United (JDU) are advocating to bring Nishant Kumar, son of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar into politics, on the other hand, a legislative councilor of the party has strongly opposed it. Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, a strong leader of Ara region and four -time MLA, who has become the Legislative Councilor of JDU for the first time, questioned this issue and said that if Nishant comes into politics, then what will be the difference between Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav?

Opposition of Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, said- Nishant’s entry is not official

Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha said that even though posters are being placed outside the JDU office regarding Nishant Kumar, no official statement of the party has come on it so far. He clarified that Nitish Kumar, party’s executive president Sanjay Jha or senior minister Vijay Chaudhary have said nothing about Nishant’s entry in politics, so why is this discussion happening?

He further said that Nitish Kumar takes all the decisions in JDU and will decide who will come to the party and who will not.

Political journey of Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha

Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha was earlier associated with Left politics and became an MLA from Jagdishpur on the Indian People’s Front (IPF) ticket in 1990. Later this party turned into CPI-ML. After leaving the left party, he came to the Samata Party and stayed there for a long time. After this he also joined the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP).

He contested the 2020 assembly election from Chirag Paswan’s party, but lost. In 2021, he returned to JDU, and last year Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made him a legislative councilor.

Politics heated up in Nishant Kumar’s entry in politics

In Nishant Kumar’s politics, there is a continuous discussion inside the JDU and NDA about the entry. Recently, Union Minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi supported his being active.

Nishant first made a statement in public when the NDA had to declare Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister’s face. Since then, JDU, BJP and other NDA leaders made statements in their support.

However, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha is the first leader who has protested against it. This statement can give rise to a new debate within the NDA and especially within the JDU. Now it has to be seen what the party takes on it and whether Nishant officially steps in politics or not.
