Nishikant Dubey became the only MP to win for the fourth consecutive time after the formation of Jharkhand

Ranchi, June 5 (HS). BJP may have lost three seats in Jharkhand but many records have been made. BJP candidate and three-time MP Nishikant Dubey from Godda Lok Sabha seat has created a new record by winning. Nishikant has become the only MP to win parliamentary elections four times in a row after the formation of Jharkhand. Apart from this, BJP has also scored a hat-trick in Jamshedpur and Palamu.

BJP dominates the Godda Lok Sabha seat of Jharkhand. This seat came into existence in the year 1962. However, the state of Jharkhand was not formed separately at that time. After the division, five Lok Sabha elections have been held on this seat. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Nishikant Dubey scored a hat-trick of victory on a BJP ticket. He was elected MP from here in 2009 and 2014.

The first election in united Bihar was held in 1962 on this seat. Prabhudayal Himmat Singh of Congress won in this. Prabhudayal was elected MP in 1967 as well. In 1971, Congress again won here and Jagdish Mandal was elected MP. However, in 1977, Congress lost and Jagdambi Prasad Yadav of Bharatiya Lok Dal won from here. After this, in the 1980 elections, Congress again captured this seat. This time Sameenuddin was elected MP from here. In 1984, Shamimuddin of Congress became MP from here.

In the 1989 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won this seat for the first time and Janardan Yadav became the MP. However, in 1991, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won the Godda seat. In the 1996 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won from here. Jagdambi Prasad Yadav won this election. In 1998, BJP made a comeback. In this by-election, Jagdambi Prasad Yadav again became the MP. After this, in 1999, Jagdambi Prasad Yadav scored a hat-trick of victory.

The 2004 Lok Sabha elections were held on this seat after the formation of Jharkhand state. Congress' Furkan Ansari won this election. In 2009, BJP made a comeback and Dr. Nishikant Dubey won and reached the Lok Sabha.
