Mumbai: Scientist Nishant Agarwal, who fell into Pakistan's honey trap, was lured with a package of 30 to 38 thousand US dollars. Falling prey to this temptation, Nishant worked as an ISI agent for 18 months and during that time he gave sensitive information to Pakistan about India's strength and security perspective.
He had put a picture of Nishant receiving the Young Scientist Award on his Facebook profile. Seeing this picture, the Pakistani intelligence agency planned to trap him. Honey was trapped and he was introduced to his alleged boss sitting in Canada. After taking the online presentation, the boss gave Nishant an offer. The offer was to get 38 thousand US dollars every day for telling things related to Brahmos in a symbolic way, along with Sejal who has a fake profile on Facebook and a girl named Neha who would be ready to give money if needed.
Falling prey to such temptation, Nishant's laptop and mobile, on which he was working on data related to Brahmos, automatically reached his bosses sitting in Pakistan, London or Canada. It was suspected that he had given this information between 11 March 2017 and 6 October 2018. In 2018, Military Intelligence and UP STA arrested Achyutanand Mishra and a woman from Kanpur. They found Nishant's code from an electrical device and the vessel exploded.
