Relations between BJP and its allies appear sour in Uttar Pradesh. Ashish Patel, working president of Apna Dal (S), an ally party in the Yogi government, and cabinet minister have targeted his own government. At the same time, Nishad Party chief and Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad has also supported Ashish Patel and warned BJP.
Corruption allegations and controversies against Ashish Patel
Ashish Patel, who is a cabinet minister in the Yogi government, is attacking the Information Department and STF of UP Police over corruption allegations. According to him, some officials are trying to tarnish his image. Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad has openly supported him on this issue.
Sanjay Nishad’s warning: “BJP will suffer if it doesn’t wake up”
Sanjay Nishad, while talking to the media in Azamgarh on Friday, gave a stern warning to the BJP. He said:
- Officials are tarnishing the image: Some officials are harassing ministers and allies.
- Accusation on BJP: BJP is neither giving seats nor symbols. This is why there was defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.
- 2027 election warning: If BJP does not change its policy, its effect will be seen in the 2027 elections.
Issue of defeat in Sant Kabirnagar and allegations against BJP
Sanjay Nishad targeted BJP while mentioning the election loss in Sant Kabirnagar district. They said that:
- BJP had a hand in the defeat of Praveen Nishad.
- Nishad Party always strongly supported its alliance, be it BJP or any other party.
- When Samajwadi Party rejected us, we chose to side with BJP, but now everything is not going well inside BJP.
Constitutional rights Rath Yatra and issue of social struggle
Sanjay Nishad had come to Azamgarh in connection with the ‘Constitutional Rights Rath Yatra’. He took a dig at the political parties of Uttar Pradesh over caste and religious conflict:
- Ethnic and religious conflicts: Some political parties want to maintain their existence only by instigating ethnic and religious conflicts.
- Demand for rights: Nishad Party is active among the public in demanding its constitutional rights.
Praise for Yogi Adityanath, but questions on officials
Sanjay Nishad praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said that he is a good leader and guide of the party. But he made serious allegations against some officials:
- Officials are making voters angry: Some officials are doing such work due to which the public and voters are getting angry with BJP.
- The image of the government is getting spoiled: Because of these officials, the image of the government is being affected, which can benefit the opposition parties.
Dissatisfaction among BJP’s allies: Is this a sign of change?
The resentment of the leaders of BJP’s two main allies—Apna Dal (S) and Nishad Party—clearly shows that relations between the BJP and its allies are becoming strained in UP.
- Allies are dissatisfied with seat sharing and their political autonomy.
- This dissatisfaction may impact BJP’s performance in the 2027 elections.
