Ninder Ghugianvi will receive Sahitya Ratna Award from Panjab University today

Mohali: Panjab University, Chandigarh, on the occasion of its 71st convocation on March 7, has announced the award of 'Sahitya Ratna' to Ninder Ghugianvi, the author of 68 books at the age of 48. Ghugyanvi is the first Punjabi writer to be appointed Writer-in-Residence at Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha, Maharashtra.

About 12 students have done M.Phil and PhD in just 9 classes on the books written by Ghugyanvi. All the universities of Punjab have published their books and made them a part of the curriculum.

The special thing is that the English translation of Ninder Ghugyanvi's autobiographical book “I Was Judges Orderly” was published by the National Book Trust of India, Delhi. This book has been translated into 15 languages ​​of India. Short films were made on many of his articles. Research work has been done and is being done on the folklore and culture of Punjab. On being honored with “Sahitya Ratna” by Panjab University, Chandigarh in the 71st convocation ceremony, he said that his responsibility towards art and literature has increased even more.
