Washington: Indian citizen Nikhil Gupta was accused of plotting to kill Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Pannu in the US and now Nikhil Gupta has been extradited to the US from the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic has taken this decision in response to the US request.
Nikhil Gupta was arrested by the Czech Republic police in June last year after US pressure. Nikhil is accused of being involved in a conspiracy to murder Gurpatwant Pannu, a Khalistani terrorist active in the US. At present, Nikhil Gupta has been handed over to the US. So now the US agencies and police will investigate this entire matter. And will interrogate Nikhil Gupta.
Nikhil Gupta can be prosecuted in a federal court in New York. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Pannu has been involved in anti-India activities while living in the US. He has also released videos from time to time giving anti-India statements. Pannu has citizenship of Canada as well as the US. India has declared him a terrorist under the UAPA. Nikhil Gupta is accused of hiring a man to kill Pannu and promising to pay him Rs 80 lakh. In view of all these allegations, the US will now interrogate Nikhil Gupta.
