India's star female boxer Nikhat Zareen has made a grand entry in the Paris Olympics. Nikhat is playing her first Olympic Games. She defeated her opponent 5-0 in the Round of 32 bout. World champion Nikhat defeated German boxer Maxi Kloetzer in a one-sided decision in the 50 kg category.
With this win, Nikhat has entered the pre-quarterfinal round. Two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen has already won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Hams and a bronze medal at the 2022 Asian Games. She has been world champion in 2022 and 2023. Nikhat Zareen hopes for a medal in boxing at the Paris Olympics. Nikhat will face Asian Games and reigning flyweight world champion Wu Yu of China in the pre-quarterfinal match on Thursday. The top seeded Chinese player got a bye in the first round.
Lovlina and Nikhat are hopeful in women's boxing
India has high hopes from its boxers Lovlina Borgohain and Nikhat Zareen in boxing at the Paris Olympic Games. Lovlina won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Nikhat, who hails from Nizamabad in Telangana, has already made her place in the ring by coming out of the shadow of legendary boxer MC Mary Kom.
