Nifty opened around 24,300, Sensex up 220 points; Typhoon up 5%, Titan down

At present, BSE's 30-share major index Sensex is trading at 79,738.67, up 262.04 points or 0.33%. Whereas NSE's main index of 50 shares Nifty is trading at 24,275.60, up by 62.30 points or 0.26% percent.

Banking, Auto, Financial Services, IT, Metal, Pharma, PSU Bank, Private Bank, Realty, Healthcare and Oil & Gas stocks are seeing a rise of 0.30-1.19%. Bank Nifty is trading at 52,428.40, up 0.42 percent. While FMCG and consumer durables shares are trading with a decline.

Among the big stocks, Apollo Hospitals, Dr. Reddy's, HCL Tech, Infosys, Hero MotoCorp, ICICI Bank, BEL and Tech Mahindra rose by 0.64-2.02 per cent. Among the big stocks, Titan, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, SBI Life, Hindalco, HDFC Life and ONGC fell by 0.69-3.35 per cent.

Among midcap stocks, Supreme Industries, Mphasis, P&G, Hind Petroleum and IGL rose 1.32-3.04 per cent. While ICICI Securities, Gillette India, 3M India, Lupine and Kansai Nerolac are down 0.14-2.06 per cent.

Among smallcap stocks, Banariaman, TransIndia Relay, Vari Renewable, Squivant Scientific and GE Power India rose between 5.00-19.87 per cent. However, among smallcap stocks, Uken India, Matrimony.com, JK Tire & Industries, Aldiji Tech and Muthoot Micro fell 3.46-5.49 per cent.
