Eicher Motors fell by Rs 74.75 to Rs 4848. TVS Motor fell by Rs 24.45 to Rs 2417.15, MRF fell by Rs 1044.65 to Rs 1,23,500, Cummins India fell by Rs 23.65 to Rs 3478.45, Bosch fell by Rs 203.75 to Rs 34,665.90. While Tube Investments rose by Rs 194.20 to Rs 3583.50, Exide rose by Rs 11.85 to Rs 457.15, Sundaram fell by Rs 10.95 to Rs 1161.45.

Amber fell by Rs 481 to Rs 5991: Titan fell by Rs 67 to Rs 3224: Kalyan Jewellers, Aditya Birla rose.

Amber Enterprises fell by Rs 481.35 to Rs 5991.45, Titan Company fell by Rs 66.95 to Rs 3223.85, CG Consumer fell by Rs 3.65 to Rs 405.35, Havells India fell by Rs 13.10 to Rs 1714.50. While Aditya Birla Fashion rose by Rs 6.75 to Rs 315.50, Kalyan Jewelers rose by Rs 11.35 to Rs 707.55, Rajesh Exports rose by Rs 1.80 to Rs 238.05. BSE Consumer Durables index fell 752.21 points to close at 61884.74.

Bankex down 481 points: Profit booking in ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Bank

BSE Bankex index fell 481.16 points to close at 59902.56 as funds traded profitably in banking frontline stocks today. Axis Bank fell by Rs 17.80 to Rs 1132.50, Kotak Mahindra Bank fell by Rs 22.55 to Rs 1759.85, ICICI Bank fell by Rs 15.40 to Rs 1286.45, HDFC Bank fell by Rs 18.10 to Rs 1792.90. IndusInd Bank fell by Rs 8.45 to Rs 993.70. While Canara Bank rose by Rs 1.45 to Rs 103, Bank of Baroda rose by Rs 2.60 to Rs 249.15, State Bank of India rose by Rs 4.55 to Rs 838.75.

Reliance Industries down Rs 22 at Rs 1271: Adani Ports down Rs 33, Bajaj Finance down Rs 190

Among the performing stocks of the group today, Reliance Industries fell by Rs 21.55 to close at Rs 1271.35, Adani Ports fell by Rs 32.75 to close at Rs 1167, Bajaj Finance fell by Rs 190.20 to close at Rs 6513.95, NTPC fell by Rs 7. It fell by Rs 30 to Rs 361.90, Nestle India fell by Rs 34.30 to Rs 2238.65, Asian Paints fell by Rs 31.40 to Rs 2458.85, Bharti Airtel fell by Rs 17.60 to Rs 1560.35.

Selective buying in small, mid-cap stocks by funds, investors continued: 2,207 shares closed positive

Market sentiment remained positive as funds, retail investors, high net worth investors continued selective buying in small, mid cap stocks today despite sharp fall in Sensex, Nifty. Of the total 4049 stocks traded on BSE, the number of gainers was 2207 and the number of decliners was 1733. BSE Small Cap Index closed 221.65 points higher at 54782.58.

FPI/FII net purchases of Rs 11,756 crore in cash: DII net purchases of Rs 8718 crore

Foreign portfolio investors – FPIs, FIIs made a net sale of shares worth Rs 11,756.25 crore in cash today Thursday. There were total sales of Rs 22,552.42 crore against total purchases of Rs 10,796.17 crore. Whereas DII-Domestic Institutional Investors made net purchases of Rs 8718.30 crore in cash today. There were total sales of Rs 8967.05 crore against total purchases of Rs 17,685.35 crore.

Investors’ asset-market capitalization fell by Rs 1.50 lakh crore to Rs 442.98 lakh crore.

The total market capitalization of BSE-listed companies fell by Rs 1.50 lakh crore in a single day to Rs 442.98 lakh crore today as IT stocks and Sensex, Nifty rose on selective buying in small and mid cap stocks.
