
National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) has released the admit card for the preliminary online examination (Phase-I Prelims Exam) to be conducted for recruitment to the posts of Assistant (Class-III). As per the official notification, NICL Assistant Prelims exam will be conducted on 27th August 2026 in online mode (CBT) at various exam centers across the country.
Exam is being conducted for 500 vacancies
Through this recruitment drive, NICL is selecting eligible candidates for a total of 500 Assistant posts across the country. The selection process will be completed in three stages—Prelims, Mains and Regional Language Test (RLT). On the basis of merit in the preliminary examination, candidates approximately 15 times the total vacancies will be shortlisted for the main examination, which is scheduled to be held on October 30, 2026.
Prelims Exam Pattern and Time Limit
NICL Assistant Prelims exam will be of 100 marks, in which a total of 100 multiple choice objective questions will be asked. The question paper is divided into three parts:

Reasoning Ability: 35 questions (35 marks)

Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions (35 marks)

English Language: 30 questions (30 marks)
Candidates will get total time of 60 minutes (1 hour) to solve the entire examination. Negative marking of 0.25 (one-fourth) marks will also be applicable for each wrong answer.

Necessary documents to carry to the examination center
It is mandatory for the candidates to carry a valid original photo identity card (like Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport or Driving License) and its photocopy along with a colored or clear printed copy of the admit card to the examination centre. Apart from this, also keep two recent passport size photographs with you. Make sure to reach the center at least 30 minutes before the reporting time given in the admit card.
