If you also travel on the highway by your vehicle, then this news is very special for you. Actually, now a little carelessness can increase the burden on the pocket. Let us tell you that now NHAI has implemented a new rule on toll plazas. Under this, double toll tax will be charged from those who do not have fast tag in their vehicles. A guideline has also been issued by NHAI regarding this.

NHAI will charge double toll

NHAI has issued guidelines for those who deliberately do not put Fastag on the windshield of their vehicle. NHAI said that deliberately not putting Fastag on the windshield causes unnecessary delay at the toll plaza. Due to this, other drivers have to face trouble. The authority has issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) in this regard. Under this, now double toll tax will be charged from such drivers.

NHAI said that information in this regard will be prominently displayed at all toll plazas. So that drivers who commit such negligence get the message and they can know about the penalty for doing so. Not only will the toll tax be doubled, but the registration number of vehicles which do not have Fastag will be recorded through CCTV footage. This will help in maintaining a proper record of the fines collected from these vehicles and the presence of the vehicle in the toll lane.

NHAI will charge double toll

The Highway Authority has asked banks and other agencies issuing Fastag to ensure that drivers properly attach it on the windshield of the vehicle. Currently, there are about a thousand toll plazas on national highways across the country, which collect toll from vehicles plying on 45,000 km long national highways and expressways. Drivers who do not install Fastag will be charged double the toll.
