Guwahati, August 19 (HS). Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has made significant progress in improving healthcare services across its network of hospitals, reflecting its strong commitment towards the health and well-being of its employees, their families and the general public.

In a statement issued on Monday, NFR CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said that under the leadership of NFR General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava, the railway has invested heavily in modernising hospital facilities to equip it with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, OTs and Intensive Care Units (ICUs). The recent launch of the Executive Cabin at the Central Hospital in Maligaon on August 15 is one such effort. Such efforts have been crucial in ensuring timely and accurate diagnosis and improving treatment of patients in these hospitals.

CPRO Sharma of NFR said that recently NFR Central Hospital at Maligaon has reaffirmed its commitment towards exceptional healthcare services for the treatment of severely burnt patients. Dr. P Maheshwari and Dr. BP Deka of the hospital handed over a Samsung tablet worth Rs. 35,000 along with other gifts to the patient in whose treatment a special ICU facility conceived and developed by NFR played a vital role. This achievement is one of the milestones for the hospital which has undergone significant upgrades especially in OT, CSSD, MGPS and ICU with state of the art diagnostic tools and equipment. Special services in cardiology, pediatrics, nephrology and oncology have been introduced, reducing the need for patients to seek treatment outside the area. In addition, new AYUSH and RELHS clinics were inaugurated on 26th January and hostel facilities for the relatives of patients were increased.

In line with the Digital India initiative, NFR hospitals have adopted Electronic Health Records (EHR), thereby streamlining patient care and enhancing coordination of medical services. Continuous training and development of medical staff ensures that they remain proficient in the latest medical practices and technologies. Additionally, NFR has been active in community outreach, organising health camps and awareness programmes, benefiting thousands of people.

The hospital's commitment to excellence in healthcare has been recognized by various accolades and awards that the medical personnel have received from time to time for their dedicated services towards the life-saving journey.
