Newborn mother carrying a torch for cesarean operation died when the lights were switched off

Mumbai: After power failure at Sushma Swaraj Palika Maternity Hospital in Bhandup, doctors performed a cesarean operation with the help of torch, in which a woman along with a newborn baby died. After this incident, the health department of the municipality has ordered an investigation into the entire incident. It is learned that the municipality has also appointed an investigation committee for this.

According to more information in this regard, this incident happened on Monday. On Monday, a woman was undergoing cesarean delivery, during which the power supply of the operation theater suddenly stopped, due to which the entire operation theater went dark. After this, the doctors delivered the woman with the help of torch. However, during this period the newborn baby died. Apart from this, the woman's health also became serious due to heavy bleeding. The woman was immediately admitted to Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion Municipality, where she also died during treatment. There was a huge uproar after this incident.

After this incident, the family members of the deceased woman are angry and have sought answers from the hospital administration. A local civic activist from Bhandup also reached the hospital after knowing about this and sought information about the entire incident from the hospital administration. Apart from this, he lodged a complaint at Bhandup police station and asked the health department of the municipality to take strict action against the responsible officers and employees.
