Wellington, July 17 (HS). New Zealand Cricket announced its domestic season on Wednesday. The New Zealand men's cricket team will host England, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the 2024-25 home season. Now as per the schedule, the men's team will play three Tests, six ODIs and eight T20 matches during the home season.

As reported earlier, the summer will begin with the first of three Tests against England in Christchurch on November 28. The series, which will also see matches played in Wellington and Hamilton, will mark the end of a nine-match streak in the longest format for the Black Caps, who enter that assignment after Tests against Afghanistan (1), Sri Lanka (2) and India (3).

After the England series, New Zealand will welcome Sri Lanka for a series of three T20Is and as many 50-over matches, after which they will travel to Pakistan for an ODI tri-series, also involving South Africa, in preparation for the Champions Trophy which is scheduled to begin on February 19.

New Zealand will return from that marquee ICC event and host Pakistan in a series of five T20Is and three ODIs that will run until April 3. The assignment is likely to overlap with the yet-to-be-announced schedule of IPL 2025.

Meanwhile, the women's team will welcome Australia and Sri Lanka during the home summer, playing six ODIs and six T20Is. Australia will play the series in two parts: three ODIs in December and return for the T20Is in late March. Sri Lanka will play their entire series in one go, in March. Their last five T20Is of the summer will be played as a double-header with the men's team.
