New Delhi, 20 July (HS). New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the telephone on Saturday.
Prime Minister Luxon warmly congratulated Prime Minister Modi on his re-election following the general elections in India.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) issued a statement saying that noting that India-New Zealand relations are based on shared democratic values and close people-to-people ties, the two leaders reiterated their strong commitment to take bilateral cooperation to new heights in the years to come.
Highlighting the momentum generated by recent high-level contacts between the two sides, they agreed to further mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in areas including trade and economic cooperation, animal husbandry, pharmaceuticals, education, space, among others.
Prime Minister Modi thanked Prime Minister Luxon for looking after the interests of Indian expatriates in New Zealand. Prime Minister Luxon assured continued efforts for their safety and welfare.
