The New Zealand team won a Test on Indian soil for the first time in 1969. After this the team defeated India by 167 runs in Nagpur. Batting first in the match, New Zealand scored 319 runs, in response to which India scored 257 runs in the first innings. The Kiwi team scored 214 runs in the second innings. India got the target of 276 runs here, but the team was limited to 109 runs and lost the match by 167 runs.
