New warrants issued for the arrest of Imran Khan, Bushrabibi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s “anti-terrorism court” on Monday ordered Imran Khan’s wife Bushrabibi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Khan’s wife Bushrabibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Khan to face anti-government protests over Amin-Gandapur and others in Islamabad last week. “A non-bailable warrant has been issued.”

Imran Khan, who is in jail since 2023, ordered his party workers to carry out a nationwide agitation (from jail) to force PTI workers to implement the election results. Also asked the workers to create pressure to withdraw the 26th amendment to the Constitution.

In the agitation that followed, 12 PTI workers were martyred in the firing. Hundreds were arrested.

After this, the police submitted a list of 96 suspects before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC). This included Imran Khan, Bushrabibi, Gandapur, former President Arifalli, former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser, PTI Chairman, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan.

The police’s petition demanding the court to issue a warrant for the arrest of this survey was accepted.
