In this era of digital payments, the use of UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is increasing rapidly. In fact, most people are now preferring UPI on a large scale instead of cash transactions. However, along with this, cases of UPI fraud are also increasing rapidly nowadays.

Keeping this in mind, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has taken an important step to make UPI transactions more secure and reliable. According to the information, now UPI payments will be confirmed with biometric authentication instead of PIN.

In fact, in recent times, cases of fraud through UPI payment have put the common people in serious concern. Although on the other hand UPI has made digital payment easy and convenient in today's time, but in the meantime cases of fraud are also increasing. Actually, users are feeling insecure about new frauds. But now to deal with this problem, NPCI has taken a big decision to adopt biometric authentication instead of PIN-based verification process.

NPCI is making this preparation to make UPI transactions more secure

At the same time, according to a Mint report, NPCI is working on a plan to include biometric authentication to make UPI transactions more secure. Under this new system, UPI transactions will now be verified through fingerprint scanning or face authentication. An attempt will be made to make UPI payments even more secure and easy by using these features already present in the smartphone.

Let us tell you that this new change will be especially beneficial for those users who are worried about the security of their banking details or PIN. Now only those people whose fingerprint or face is already saved in the system will be able to transact through biometric authentication. This step will also curb incidents of fraud to a great extent.
