New Railway Trains: There is great news for those traveling by train. Passengers are going to get the gift of new mainline electric multiple unit (MEMU) and diesel multiple (DMU) trains. Northern Railway Firozpur division will launch the Katra-Banihal section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project on Tuesday. According to the report, sources said that Northern Railway Ferozepur Division has received the official release. This communication was sent from CPTM, Northern Railway, Baroda House, New Delhi for introducing new MEMU and DMU trains between Baramulla and Sangaldan stations.
The official release said, 'A new train is being started from Baramulla to Sangaldan stations. Train numbers will use 04620-04622-04617 and 04614, 04619 routes. A new section is going to open between Banihal and Sangaldan station. Under this, 2 trains will run between Baramulla and Sangaldan in the morning and afternoon. These trains will run for 6 days except Sunday. There is no mention of train operation data in this. However, the timing of these trains running from Baramulla to Sangaldan has definitely been mentioned.
Banihal-Sangaldan section will open from February 20
Let us tell you that rail service will start on February 20 on the 48.1 km long Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project. A railway source said that we are moving towards realizing the dream of connecting Srinagar to Kanyakumari. The USBRL project is one of the most ambitious Himalayan Railway projects since independence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi can inaugurate this section by digitally flagging off a train from Sangaldan. According to Railways, the Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan section, built at a cost of Rs 15,863 crore, is completely ready for rail operations. Now the existing train services from Baramulla to Banihal will be extended up to Sangaldan. Sangaldan is a town near Ramban district headquarters.
