Toll Plaza New Rules: A plan is being made to provide relief in toll tax during the journey. NHAI has fixed new toll rates. After the new rules, the 29 km journey from Sonipat to Bawana will cost just Rs 65 at the country's first booth-less toll plaza in Jhinjhauli. Here the entire process of toll collection will be automatic. The sensors installed in it will automatically deduct the toll amount from the Fastag. Its trial was conducted on Sonipat spur of Urban Extension Road-2.
Under the new rules, Rs 105 will be charged for minibuses and light commercial vehicles and Rs 225 for two-axle commercial vehicles. Along with this, a minimum fee of Rs 65 will be charged.
Know how this system will work?
According to NHAI officials, currently it has been integrated with Advanced Toll Management System and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system. As soon as the vehicle passes, the sensors installed in it open the barrier. Work is also being done on the pilot project of automatic number plate recognition system at this toll plaza.
get rid of big lines
Work will be done to create awareness among all people in this regard. But along with this, a line will also be set up for those giving cash. If any blacklisted Fastag or cash giver comes, he will be thrown out of the left lane. However, such vehicles will have to pay more like other toll plazas. Signboards will be installed on highways to ensure that motorists cannot access the automatic lane.
What are the plans for the future?
In this new rule, toll barriers will be opened with the help of sensors, but after some time such technology will also come in which there will be no need for barriers. If GNSS based toll is introduced in future then FASTag and barrier will not be required. Through this technology, a unique ID will be created for every vehicle as soon as it comes on the highway. According to NHAI officials, a similar toll plaza has also been built in Kanpur.
Toll fee of NH 344P is written on the board. The work of collecting toll fees will be started by December. If there is any fault then the engineers present in the control room will fix it. There are plans to completely automate the toll plaza.
