New rules for teachers: Now TET will be mandatory for teaching class 12th also; Rules for becoming a teacher

New rules for teachers: Many changes have been made in the rules under the National Education Policy-2020. These changes are related to children's education, patterns as well as their ability to become teachers. Under NEP, now it will be mandatory to pass TET i.e. Teacher Eligibility Test for teaching class 12th students. Till now, TET was necessary to become a teacher only till class 8th. Whether you teach in a central government school or a state government school, TET was necessary to teach up to class eight. But from now on it will be implemented from class 9th to 12th.

As you know, CTET i.e. Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted for the eligibility of teachers at the central level. CTET score is valid for life. On the lines of CTET, there is a plan to make TET valid for life.

Let us tell you that in many states of the country, one paper of TET exam is still for teaching students from class 1 to 5 and the other paper is for teaching students from class 6 to 8. But soon TET rule will be implemented till class 12th in all the states.

Applicable in these states

Three other state governments including Haryana, Kerala, Odisha have made changes in the TET rules. In these states, STET i.e. State Teacher Eligibility Test has been implemented till class 12th. Soon TET rules will be implemented in all the states till class 12th.
