What is the absolute rule?

The new rule implemented by the ICC for the T20 World Cup 2024 is called the stop clock rule. With this new rule the match will end on time. To understand it in simple language, the fielding team has to start the second over within 1 minute of the completion of one over. After each over a 1 minute stop clock will start on the screen.

There will be a penalty of 5 runs for the mistake

A very strict decision is being taken by the ICC regarding the World Cup 2024. If a team violates the stop clock rule, it will also be fined 5 runs. The thing to note is that the team will not be punished for one mistake, but for three mistakes. If a team is late bowling even once, they will be warned and out. If that team makes another mistake, they will still be warned and let go. But if the team makes this mistake for the third time then a penalty of 5 runs will be imposed on them.
