Every day new revelations are being made in the case of suicide of AI software engineer Atul Subhash. According to recently revealed information, Atul’s wife Nikita Singhania had withdrawn 2 out of the 9 cases registered against him. The remaining 4 cases were still pending in the Family Court of Jaunpur. One of these cases was scheduled to be heard on January 12, 2025. But before this, Atul committed suicide on 9th December.
Arrest of accused and absconding accused
Bengaluru Police has arrested Nikita Singhania (wife), Nisha (mother-in-law), and Anurag (brother-in-law) in the suicide case of Atul Subhash. At the same time, the fourth accused Sushil Singhania (Nikita’s uncle) is still absconding. The police is busy searching for him.
Atul’s serious allegations before suicide
Atul Subhash had left a video and a 24-page suicide note before committing suicide. In this, he had made serious allegations against his wife, in-laws and Jaunpur Family Court judge Rita Kaushik. He said that:
- 9 fake cases were registered against him.
- He was tired of proving himself innocent again and again.
- He was being subjected to constant mental and financial torture from his wife and in-laws.
- A demand of Rs 5 lakh was made from him to settle the court case.
He wrote in his note that his salary was not enough that he could keep giving money without any reason.
Total 9 cases registered in court
Atul Subhash told that his wife Nikita had filed a total of 9 cases against him:
- 6 cases in lower court.
- 3 cases in High Court.
- 1 case was filed by Atul himself in the High Court.
Sections imposed:
- Section 302: Charge of murder
- Section 377: Unnatural sex
- Section 498A: Dowry harassment
- Section 323: Assault
- Section 406: Betrayal
- Section 506: Criminal intimidation
- Section 504: Intentional insult
- Section 125: Maintenance
In some cases, there were difficulties in getting bail.
Strategy to withdraw Nikita’s case
Atul had told in the video that Nikita withdrew the divorce case and claimed that her lawyer had filed the case on her own will. But Atul called it a lie. He said that Nikita deliberately withdrew the divorce case so that he could give her more mental torture.
4 cases going on in Jaunpur
At present, 4 cases were pending against Atul in the Family Court of Jaunpur. One of these was a case of dowry harassment and assault, the next hearing of which was scheduled on January 12, 2025.
Suicide and suicide note on 9th December
Atul committed suicide on 9 December. He left a 24-page suicide note, in which he described his suffering and torture. In this matter, the police registered a case on the complaint of Atul’s brother Vikas Subhash.
