Sensex-Nifty Update: While the Indian stock market has been witnessing a tremendous upward trend for some time now, today the Sensex and Nifty once again touched a new all-time high and made a historical record. The Sensex rose 405.84 points to reach an all-time high of 80392.64. Nifty also touched a new all-time high of 24401. Investors' capital has increased by Rs. 1.19 lakh crore. By 10.36 am, the BSE market cap has reached Rs. 446.68 lakh crore.

Banking and financial services stocks rose on reports of improvement in the banking sector's balance sheet and gross NPA reaching a 12-year low. Today again BSE Bankex touched a new all-time high of 60720.76 points and Financial Services touched a new all-time high of 11680.75 points. PSU stocks including Cochin Shipyard, Mazagon Dock, HUDCO are also trading up by up to 8 percent.
