New Delhi News: Temperature crossed 41 degrees in many states including UP-MP

The scorching heat wave has returned with a rapid rise in temperatures in many parts of the country. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature in the capital Delhi was 35.8 degrees Celsius, while in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and West Bengal the temperature has crossed 41 degrees Celsius. In view of the weather department's forecast of extreme heat till Saturday, the Odisha government on Wednesday announced the closure of all schools in the state for three days from today (April 18 to 20). The state education department said the state government has decided to keep all schools, including government, aided and private, closed for three days in view of the scorching heat and rise in day temperature.

At the same time, due to unbearable heat and humidity in some parts of Bihar, the temperature has crossed 40 degrees Celsius in 9 districts of the state. The state Chief Secretary called a meeting of the Emergency Management Group to review the heat and water situation. The heat level has also increased in the country's financial capital Mumbai. The Meteorological Department has issued a drought warning in Thane and Raigarh districts including Mumbai. According to meteorological department officials, the maximum temperature in all three districts can go up to 38 degrees Celsius.

The temperature is also increasing in Karnataka. There is no possibility of respite from the heat in the capital Bengaluru. The Meteorological Department on Monday predicted above average rainfall this monsoon, which is good news for the country's agriculture sector. Monsoon usually reaches Kerala around the first of June and lasts till mid-September. There is an average 106 percent chance of rain this year. Meanwhile, in Himachal Pradesh's Lahaul Spiti, police have appealed to people to stay away from Chandra river and advised them to avoid going to slopes and snowy areas due to fear of avalanche. Police said the flow of Chandra river was blocked by an avalanche caused by snowfall and rain on Tuesday morning but it has now been repaired. Due to which, in view of the rising water level in the river, people have been advised to stay away from the river.
