New advisory issued for air travellers, check immediately before travelling

Mumbai Airport Advisory: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport of Mumbai has issued an advisory for its passengers. Mumbai Airport has informed the passengers that due to Independence Day, security arrangements have been increased at the airports till August 20. In such a situation, Mumbai Airport has appealed to its passengers to keep this advisory in mind and plan and time their travel accordingly. It is worth noting that on the occasion of Independence Day, security is increased in all crowded areas including airport, railway station, metro.

Mumbai airport advisory: Safety protocols to be followed till August 20

Mumbai Airport wrote on social media, 'Due to the expected surge in air travel in the coming weeks as well as additional security measures for Independence Day till 20 August 2024, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport requests passengers to allocate sufficient time to complete the mandatory safety protocols. At Mumbai International Airport, our teams are committed to prioritizing the safety of our passengers while ensuring a safe and efficient air hub.'

DMRC also issued advisory, security checks will be increased in metro

Before Mumbai Airport, DMRC wrote on social media platform X, 'Security arrangements have been increased ahead of Independence Day on August 15. In view of this, security checks of passengers will be further intensified by CISF at metro stations from tomorrow i.e. August 6, 2024 (Tuesday). As a result, there may be long queues at some metro stations till Independence Day, especially during peak hours. Therefore, passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly.'

Tight security arrangements in Delhi for Independence Day

On the security arrangements on Independence Day, North Delhi DCP Manoj Kumar Meena said, 'Every year on 15 August, Delhi Police makes strict arrangements. Arrangements are being made this time too. Around 22,000 people come to watch the ceremony, arrangements are being made for them too so that they can come comfortably. CCTVs have been installed in the area around the Red Fort. Social media will also be monitored.'
