If your iPhone falls or gets wet in water, never put it in rice. This has been said by the iPhone manufacturing giant tech company Apple itself. Apple has recently warned users what to do and what not to do if a liquid detection alert comes in the iPhone.
It is often seen that when someone's phone falls into water, or gets wet or water somehow gets inside the phone, then users try to dry it themselves. Some dry it with a dryer blower, some dry it by adding water or some put it in a rice container. But Apple has clearly refused to do so on its support page. Experts also deny that putting a phone soaked in rice will dry out the phone. When you put the phone inside the rice from above it slows down the drying process. Let us know what Apple has to say in this matter.
The guidelines given by Apple on its page state what to do and what not to do if a liquid detection alert is coming on your phone or accessories.
What do you do
– If your iPhone or any accessories falls in water or gets wet, first unplug the cable from the power adapter.
– Do not connect cables until the phone or accessories are dry.
– If the phone gets wet, first turn on the tap and keep the phone under it. At this time, take special care that your charging point is downwards. This will remove water from the phone. Then keep the phone in a dry place, so that it gets air.
– Try charging the phone after about 30 minutes. If the alert still comes after 30 minutes, it means there is still water in the connector or there is water in the cable pins. Do not charge the phone.
– In such a situation, keep the phone open for a day. It may take up to 24 hours for the phone to dry. Charge the phone only after 24 hours.
– If the phone is dry but not charging, disconnect the cable and adapter. Connect and charge after some time.
what not to do?
– Do not heat the phone externally in any way. Do not attempt to dry with a hair dryer or compressed air.
– Do not keep any other item like cotton, paper napkin in the phone.
– Do not keep the iPhone in a rice box, it may damage your phone.
