Windhoek (Namibia), 04 December (HS). Swapo Party Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwa created history in the election of the fifth President of Namibia, an important country in Southern Africa. She will be the country’s first female president. According to The Namibian newspaper, Elsie Nghikembua, Commissioner of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN), announced her election on Tuesday evening. He won with 638,560 votes. His nearest rival, Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) leader Panduleni Itula, got 284,186 votes. Nghikembua said 15 candidates took part in the election.
He announced that Nandi-Ndaitwa had been duly elected President of Namibia. With the exception of opposition leader Job Amupanda, the rest of the opposition leaders refused to accept the election results. The opposition alleges that there was a lack of transparency in the elections. Encountered a technical problem. Large numbers of people were disenfranchised. The election will be challenged in court. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwa was born on 29 October 1952 in Onamutai, northern Namibia, to Justina Nkoto Shaduka-Nandi and Petrus Nandi. He studied at the famous St. Mary’s Mission School, Odibo. He also taught school before going into exile. He has been active in the country’s politics for a long time.
