Ahmedabad: There is news of relief for the government on the economic front. According to government data released on Wednesday, net direct tax collection has increased by 16.45 percent in November. This increase will save the exchequer Rs. in FY 2025. There has been an increase of Rs 15.82 lakh crore.
According to the government, this increase in direct tax collection is due to increase in advance tax collection. According to government data, advance tax collection increased by 21 percent to Rs 2.5 crore during this period. It is worth Rs 7.56 lakh crore. The net corporate tax collection after deducting refunds was Rs. Rs 6.83 lakh crore. It is worth Rs 7.42 lakh crore. Net non-corporate tax was Rs. Rs 7.97 lakh crore has been deposited with the government.
Securities transaction tax of Rs 1 from April 1 to December 17, 2024. 40,114 crores were collected. During this period Rs. Refunds worth Rs 3.39 lakh crore were also issued, which shows a year-on-year increase of 42.49 percent.
Gross direct tax collections, including corporate tax, personal income tax and STT, from April 1 to December 17, 2024, stood at Rs. 19.21 lakh crores were lost. This shows an increase of 20.32 percent compared to the same period in 2023. The total gross collection of corporate tax stood at Rs 9.24 lakh crore, which is more than last year’s Rs 7.90 lakh crore.
