Hamirpur, 07 September (HS). On Saturday, the police arrested the accused nephew and sent him to jail in the case of shooting his aunt to death over the division of a house in Jaria village. The cousin brother was also seriously injured in the firing and has been referred to Kanpur Medical College for treatment.
There has been a dispute over the house between Pramod Kumar and Anand, residents of Jaria village in Sarila area for a long time. Pramod's son Manish Kumar (19) was studying at home on Friday night, when Anand entered the house with an illegal weapon. He fired at Manish. The bullet hit Manish's stomach. The sound of the bullet created a stir in the neighborhood. Hearing the son's screams, mother Gayatri, who was cooking in the kitchen, ran to save him, then Anand shot at her as well, due to which she died on the spot. Gayatri is Anand's aunt. After the incident, the accused nephew fled from the spot. The injured youth was rushed to the government hospital for treatment, where he was referred to Kanpur when his condition became critical. The police have registered a report of this incident on the basis of the complaint.
On receiving the information of the incident, Jaria police station and CO reached the spot and inquired about the incident. The family members said that there was a dispute going on with Amit regarding the possession of the house. The matter is also pending in the court. Manish was threatened with death several times, a complaint of which was lodged in the police station. Additional Superintendent of Police said on Saturday that a case has been registered and the accused has been arrested.
