Nepal's ruling party Congress said- incidents of attack on Hindus in Bangladesh are worrying

Kathmandu, 9 August (HS). Nepal's main ruling party Nepali Congress has expressed concern over the incidents of attacks on Hindus during the student movement in Bangladesh. The party has said that the incidents of attack on the Hindu community during the anti-reservation movement in Bangladesh are worrying.

In a statement issued after the Central Working Committee meeting on Friday, it was said that the rulers and security forces of Bangladesh have been asked to protect the rights of religious minorities and maintain religious tolerance and social harmony. The party has expressed confidence that it will succeed in creating a peaceful environment in Bangladesh.

In a statement issued by the party's Central Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel, the incidents of attack on religious minorities, especially Hindus, during the ongoing protests in Bangladesh are worrying. The party believes that the situation there will soon return to normal and Bangladesh will succeed in guaranteeing the safety of all. The release expects a peaceful environment to be restored as soon as possible while protecting the rights of religious minorities, maintaining religious tolerance and social harmony.

In a meeting held at the central office of Nepali Congress under the chairmanship of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba, the newly appointed head of the interim government of Bangladesh Mohammad Yunus was congratulated and wished for his successful tenure and it was said to pay special attention to the safety of minorities.

Through the statement, the Nepali Congress expressed hope that the interim government will announce the election date in consultation with all political parties, civil society and opposition parties and expressed confidence that the election will be held in a clean, fair and fear-free environment with the participation of all Bangladeshi citizens.

The statement said that the Nepali Congress has been closely following the political developments taking place in Bangladesh over the past few weeks and is confident that the democratic and constitutional process will be carried forward without any delay and the political deadlock will end.
