Kathmandu: A Nepalese Buddha Airlines plane had to turn back soon after take off from Kathmandu airport after one of its engines started sparking. Therefore, the lives of 76 people including six crew members of the plane were saved. Fortunately, no one was injured. Later, all the passengers were boarded in another plane and taken to the destination of the plane, Chandragahi.
The details are as follows: Today at 10:37 am, Buddha Air flight no. from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu took off. BHA-953 left for Chandragarh. Upon reaching there, one of its engines started sparking before it could even get into the sky and the pilot immediately turned the plane back and ordered all passengers to disembark. Earlier he had informed the air control so arrangements were made for firefighters, ladders etc. The engine (left engine) caught fire but the passenger and two pilots and two studders, two stewardesses, disembarked and were all safe. No one was injured.
The fire was extinguished by fire brigade personnel, then another plane was arranged and the tourists were brought to Chandragarh.
It is noteworthy that 3 days ago, Air-India Express flight going from Dubai to Kerala had to make emergency landing in Karipur, Kerala due to failure of hydraulic steam. There were 182 passengers including 6 crew members but all survived.
