Kathmandu, 22 October (Hindustan Reporter). Police have arrested two youths who entered Nepal from Mumbai via Uttar Pradesh with cash worth Rs 20 lakh. Nepal Police has contacted Mumbai Police to know the criminal background of the arrested youth.
These two youths, who had entered Nepal via Kapilvastu from Krishnanagar, located on the border of Uttar Pradesh and Nepal, were caught during checking after receiving information that they were carrying a huge amount of cash.
DSP Mohan Mani Adhikari of Kapilvastu District Police said that these two youths were preparing to enter Nepal in different vehicles and go to Kathmandu. According to the DSP, these two youths who brought the vehicle with Uttar Pradesh number plate have been identified as 33-year-old Salman Qureshi and Umesh Sakharam Khandagle.
According to the information given by the DSP officer, Rs 8 lakh in cash was recovered from one rented vehicle (UP 45 AS 6663) and Rs 12 lakh 50 thousand from another vehicle (UP 42 DT 5721). Nepal Police has contacted Mumbai Police to know the details about the two youths. Police suspect that these two youths may be associated with some criminal gang or may have come to Nepal to hide after committing some criminal incident.
