Ranchi, August 2 (HS). On the last day of the monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on Friday, Congress MLA Neha Shilpi Tirkey raised the issue of Bhuinhar Munda caste in the House, who have been struggling for 24 years to maintain the identity of their caste.

The MLA said that due to clerical error in the records of many scheduled tribes and scheduled castes of Jharkhand state such as Bhuihar Munda, Khuntakti Muinda, Kampat Munda, Cheek Baraik, Bhaiya (Paik), Lohara, Lohar, Cheek Baraik, Swanshi, Ghatwar, Ghatwal etc., other irrelevant castes or facts have been registered in place of their original scheduled caste or tribe, due to which the people belonging to the said castes are facing many difficulties and they are all deprived of their constitutional rights.

On this, Minister Deepak Birua said that the government takes a decision in the light of the TRI report, we will ask for a report from TRI. Neha Shilpi demanded the formation of a committee of the Vidhan Sabha, which was supported by many MLAs. TRI did not do its work properly, so a committee of the Vidhan Sabha was formed. He said that if this work is not done before the National Census of 2025, then the number of tribals will decrease again.

Deepak Birua said that the National ST Commission only accepts the report of TRI. Therefore, this can be done only through TRI. There is no need for a committee of the assembly for this. The minister said that he will take the report after meeting with the tribal minister but Neha Tirkey was adamant in the house on the demand of forming a committee and voting. Badal Patralekh said that they are agitating for these demands, their case should be withdrawn and I support Neha's demand. On the request of the speaker, Neha Tirkey withdrew the non-official resolution and said that I am withdrawing it with a heavy heart.
