NEET-PG Exam In view of the recent incidents of alleged paper leaks of some competitive examinations, the Health Ministry has decided to assess the robustness of the process of NEET-PG entrance examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations for medical students.
Decision to postpone NEET-PG entrance exam
As a precautionary measure, it has been decided to postpone the NEET-PG entrance examination to be held tomorrow i.e. June 23, 2024. The new date of this examination will be informed soon. The Ministry of Health has apologized for the inconvenience caused to the students. The ministry has said that this decision has been taken in the best interest of the students and to maintain the sanctity of the examination process.
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also requested to postpone the examination
Amid the ongoing controversy over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor had urged the central government to postpone the NEET-PG exam scheduled to be held on June 23. Keeping in mind the interests of the students, Shashi Tharoor also mentioned the scorching heat in North India.
When will the NEET-UG exam be held?
The NEET-UG re-exam for 1,563 candidates will be held on Sunday, June 23. Officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Union Education Ministry will be present at the exam centres while conducting the exam.
While hearing various petitions on the issue, the Supreme Court had on June 18 said that if there is '0.001 per cent negligence' on the part of anyone in the conduct of the exam, it should be dealt with strictly.
